Description
Single Clicker
One click, one chain reaction. See how much of the field you can bring down.
Calling this a game is a stretch. It's a single clicker: you click once, then sit back while a field full of atoms breaks apart in a chain reaction. There's nothing to aim, nothing to time, and nothing to do afterwards except watch the photons finish the job. It's mostly here because the whole thing is satisfying to look at.
That said, there is one number at the end. The results screen counts up what percentage of the field you destroyed, and getting that to 100% is genuinely tricky.
How to play
-
Click to start the reaction. Once everything has settled, click again for a fresh field.
-
AGAIN or Enter on the results screen reopens the setup popup so you can go straight into another round.
The setup popup
Before each round you get a handful of knobs, all limited to sensible presets:
-
Balls: 200 to 900 atoms
-
Ball size: 40% to 80% of the grid cell. Smaller balls leave narrower gaps and the chain has a harder time getting through them.
-
Ball shape: circle, square, triangle, pentagon or hexagon
-
Photon speed: 5 to 20 cells per second
-
Photons per blast: 1 to 3
-
Trail length: 1 to 5
-
Explosion time: half a second to 2 seconds
Random setup is on by default, which pre-rolls every row each time the popup opens. So every field is a surprise before you've touched anything. Turn it off in settings if you'd rather start from the standard values.
The results
When the last photon fades, the game counts up your percentage, lists a few stats, and draws a pie chart of the colours you detonated, with an open slice for the atoms that survived. Your setup is printed right there on the panel too, so no pretending the run was harder than it was.
Settings
Fullscreen, sound effects, music and the random setup toggle live on the settings screen and are remembered between sessions.
