Topdown Turbos 2 is a top-down racing game, with a style from the 16 bit era when such racers were massive on the Amiga, Sega Genesis and Neo-Geo.

Like games such as MicroMachines, Nitro, Supercars and Thrash Rally, you can play this game on the couch against your friends, with 1 to 4 players being able to join. This sequel has been re-built from the ground up for splitscreen multiplayer.

So that you can see more of the track ahead, the default camera is now a 'rally' style camera, where the camera rotates with the car, and the car is positioned at the bottom of the screen. If you prefer a more traditional topdown camera, where the camera does not rotate, then you can choose that instead - just press the camera button on-screen or press space or Y on the controller.

8 different types of vehicles are available, all with different types of handling, from F1 racing cars, through to rally cars and go-karts.

Topdown Turbos 2 features a Cup mode, where you can complete cups from 3 races all the way up to 18 races, where the races are car types are randomly chosen.

If you just want to race a single race, with your preferred vehicle type, you can do that too.

There are three different types of difficulty, ranging from easy (slow speed) to hard (fast speed).

The game is made to be played on any device - PC, phone or tablet, with any type of input - keyboard, gamepad or touch input.

*Updates-

5 June 2026 - fixed the retro camera for the first player in three player splitscreen so it scrolls smoothly.

30 May 2026 - updated the second camera so the vehicle is anchored at the top/bottom of the screen when driving up or down to provide more visibility of the road ahead. Zoomed the camera in slightly so the vehicle appears larger.

25 May 2026 - cleaned up the sprites around the edges of the maps.

16 May 2026 - AI cars now corner more smoothly and get stuck on obstacles less often. Made cup races and vehicles better randomized. Fix a bug where restarting a single race would restart your last Cup race. Fixed a bug where equal number of points would be given to 3rd and 4th place in Cup mode.

11 May 2026 - fixed a bug where the race results screen and podium screen were sometimes showing incorrect placings in 2 player mode.

10 May 2026 - bugs fixed. Race results screen now shows correct race times. Fixed a slowdown in the game when restarting a race (caused by an audio issue).
