Description
Mokgard: The War of the Oath
Mokgard: The War of the Oath is a turn-based tactical combat game in pixel art. Set in a fantasy world, build your army with diverse units, each with its own specializations and unique stats.
Tactical Combat
-
Every unit is unique. Many peoples of different races inhabit Mokgard. Each unit reflects the history of its people through its stats and special abilities.
-
Throw things. Torches, poison flasks, mud, nets, and other items reshape the battlefield.
-
Battles gone sideways. Mid-battle, unexpected events can strike: demonic rifts, a wolf attack, undead hordes, or locals taking up pitchforks.
-
Light and weather. Sun, clouds, and rain; day and night. Battles are tougher when you can't even see the tip of the arrow you're about to shoot.
Campaign Mode: The War of the Oath (in development)
The region of Balrol is at war over llumun, the rarest magical mineral in Mokgard. The city-state of Barun, backed by the dreaded Warlock Conclave, has used the orc threat as an excuse to annex lands rich in llumun. Aberna, one of the region's great cities, suffocated and besieged, has allied with the city of Lorn to rebel against the Warlock Conclave.
Mercenaries arrive from across Mokgard in search of fame and fortune, and you have been entrusted with a simple task: command an army and win the war.
Progression
Campaign mode is under construction, but you can already jump in and try it out. Here is where it's headed:
-
Pledge loyalty. Join the Conclave or the Oath. Each faction has its own perks, territories, and lore.
-
Create your commander. Choose race and class, name your army, and give it an emblem and a motto.
-
March across the war map. Move along the paths of a hex map, conquer territories, and upgrade your army with the resources you earn. Manage your army's stamina and choose your moves wisely, as enemy armies are on the move too.
-
Live in the camp. Recruit units at the barracks, haggle at the market, unlock talents and equipment, and heal wounded units. Your soldiers gossip about the places you pass through, tell stories around the campfire, and earn nicknames after each battle.
Skirmish Mode
Set up a battle to your liking and play it against the AI or with another player on the same machine.
-
Elimination. Two armies on a battlefield. The last one standing wins.
-
Transport. Escort a supply wagon across hostile terrain, or make sure it never arrives.
-
Assault. Seize the enemy position and hold the capture points, or defend it with everything you've got.
