Description
The sequel to Invasion of the Blobocytes is finally here after a whole week. The least anticipated sequel to a game ever, one that has been played by literarily dozens of people.
We knew they would come back. As I had the sprites, objects and a sequel is so much easier than starting from stratch but there are new enemies and pretty pictures of Dundee to look at as you dodge bullets while trying to destroy the brain Blobocyte.
The Blobocytes are trying to invade Dundee again.
Your ship may be fast and agile but regarding fire power. The good news we have doubled your firepower but the bad news is half of your bullets are going backwards. But those Blobocytes are sneaky little…. So it may be a blessing in disguise.
Again you must defeat seven different Blobocyte attacks, they will learn from their mistakes so each attack will be more severe.
Important information
-
Aim for the brain (the glowing Blobocyte) some levels have more than one brain.
-
Your ship will survive a collision with a Blobocyte but their bullets will damage your shields.
-
Beware of the homing blobocytes, you will hear a pop as they are fired.
-
Four hits and it’s game over.
-
The Blobocytes have perfected their armour which glows blue when it absorbs your shots.
Level codes
After you win the third battle you will start to receive two letter codes to replay the next battle without having to start from the beginning as things start to get rather hectic.
This is not a great game or the start of a multi billion dollar franchise but it was made and features Dundee.
It was made to promote The Dundee Gaming Tour that tells the story of Dundee’s pivotal role in the gaming industry.
Dundee doesn't have a gaming museum despite being:
- Where millions of ZX Spectrum 8 bit computers were made
- Where Lemmings one of the most original 16 bit games was created
- Where the Grand Theft Auto franchise began
- Where Minecraft was ported from the PC to the consoles
I can't build a museum but I can give a guided walking tour with many amusing stories, fun facts and some artifacts from the days of 8 bit gaming.
