Automata Sandbox

Cellular automaton sandbox game, play with different rulesets. Offers the classic Game of Life, and also customizeable life-rules.

Available automatons:

• Game of Life
• Custom life
• WireWorld
• Brian's Brain
• Larger than Life
• Lenia (predefined growth function and filters)

Technical side: This sandbox uses shaders and surfaces for computing next state.

Settings menu

• Game area can range from 8x8 to 2048x2048.
• Ghosting allows afterimage, which may look more pleasing
• Square/Round pixels in closeup
• Enable world to repeat around or not.

Controls:

• Everything is doable just with mouse.

    • Play/Pause: Space
    • Speed: Up/Down
    • Step-on-Press: Left
    • Run-on-Hold: Right

    • Draw: 1 or D
    • Line: 2 or L
    • Rectangle: 3 or R
