WYRM WARRIOR is an NES-inspired monster fighter over a year in the making. You a warrior in an unfamiliar land must brave a handcrafted world of six continents full of monsters, bosses, dungeons, NPCs, and loot. Can you defeat THE WYRMLORD?

Welcome to WYRM WARRIOR!

Explore, loot, level-up, customize, fight, and talk your way through a brand-new world from the mind of someone who has played RPGs since the 80s.

All art, music, story is handmade, and no dungeon is a template.

Enjoy classic turn-based JRPG combat with an equipment durability system, character stat customization, and a ton of monsters to slay. Learn new Magic, find items, or just bash enemies with physical attacks. You decide how to battle. Meet quirky NPCs with thoughtful dialogue, quests, and quirks.

  • Crafting! Talk to the Cook in Teristan!
  • Full UI redo with three custom fonts, all menus rebuilt, upscaling fixed.

The demo ends at the Desert Tower, plot point 10 out of 30 total. You get a WHOLE THIRD OF THE GAME in this demo. 3-4 hours, and 20+ levels of gameplay! All of Corvidia and Teristan quests.

Bugs happen, report them and they'll get fixed. Game is in active development, with full version coming soon, and one planned DLC.

AI:

  • I used AI at times to help me make some features of the core game engine in Gamemaker. Particularly the battle system's state machine.
  • AI was never used for art, music, planning, or inspiration. I only asked for explicit code help.
  • The game does not call or use LLMs, no networking is builtin to the game.
  • I'm continuing to rewrite modules until there's no AI generated code left.
  • I will keep this notice here until I've rewritten the parts partially-written by AI.
